New to flag football?
Start here.
Every WOWflag family started exactly where you are. Here's the game, why it fits little kids, and how to play with yours tonight.
What is flag football?
Football, without tackling
Instead of tackling, defenders pull a flag from the ball carrier's belt. The play ends, everyone pops back up, and the next play begins. It's fast, non-contact, and endlessly fun.
Small teams, big touches
Games are small-sided, so every kid runs, catches, and pulls flags constantly. Nobody stands in the outfield wondering when it's their turn.
A sport that's exploding
Flag football is one of the fastest-growing youth sports — and it's coming to the 2028 Olympics. Your child is starting at exactly the right time.
Why it's a great first sport at 4–5
- It's movement-rich. Running, dodging, catching, and chasing build the locomotor patterns every sport (and recess!) is built on.
- It's non-contact. Flag pulls replace tackles — a safety-conscious way to learn the game.
- It's confidence-sized. Short sessions, small fields, soft equipment, and constant success moments.
- Everyone is involved. WOWflag™ sessions are built with zero lines and zero elimination — kids move the whole time.
